IN HOUSE TRAINING ON HOUSING BENEFIT

I offer in-house training on housing benefit anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales.  I train both staff or local authorities and voluntary organisations  I'm happy to discuss any type of housing benefit training but I specialise in some of the more complicated areas of benefit.

Here are some examples of  one day courses I have run recently, with indicative prices.  These prices are good for any part of the country, but I offer reductions for courses within a short distance of my base, near Brighton.

Dealing effectively with housing benefit overpayments

Large numbers of organisations are repaying considerable sums in alleged housing benefit overpayments.  This course is designed to make sure you only pay back what you legally should.  I'm so confident that it will save you money that I offer a money back guarantee- if you make a genuine effort to carry out the recommendations of the course and do not save at least the cost of my fee, I will give you your money back.  Indicative cost £1500

Rent and Services

This course is particularly aimed at supported and sheltered housing organisations and shows you how to break down your charge into rent and services for housing benefit purposes.  Target rents set by the Tenant Services Agency will also be considered where the course is held in England.  Indicative cost £1400

Forget Supporting People

How to survive if your supporting people grant payments are cut.  The course looks at the issues of the impact of losing funding on exempt status, alternative sources of funding through homeless persons and communty care legislation, the possibility of charging residents for support and the possibilities of transferring expediture from support to rent.  Indicative cost £1600

Introduction to housing benefit for workers in short stay housing for homeless people

This introductory course gives the basics and focusses on the benefit issues which affect people who may only stay a short time, including benefit problems that can arise when someone arrives and when they move on.  Indicative cost £980.  Other introductory courses are available.

I will work with up to 20 participants and my costs include all expenses and a detailed factpack for each participant. VAT must be added to all costs.
